Soft tissue inflammation

Hi everybody, I am a 51 year old woman, 13 weeks post-op from right THR. I was doing really well until 3 weeks ago when I started suffering groin pain and extreme pain in my upper thigh and bottom. The pain was so bad I had to start using my crutches again and after sitting for more than 20 minutes I'm  in agony. Went to hospital today for xray and saw specialist nurse. She thinks it is soft tissue inflammation in the bursa pad and surrounding muscle. She is referring me back to surgeon but it is a 5 week wait for an appointment.

Has anybody else suffered from this and is so what treatment options are available?

Thanks in advance fellow hippies and I look forward to hearing from you.

Afternoon Joanne from the Lone Star State! Howdy and a warm welcome !! 🤠 Groin pain is a common complaint after hip surgery. And 3 months is still pretty soon. It seems once we are able to start using the new hip this happens. I too was diagnosed with tendonitis and bursitis of the hip. It can be quite uncomfortable. The main thing that helped was massaging, icing and heat. Of course exercises well help too just don't over do it. I'm almost a year out and still struggling with stiffness and discomfort. I've also have some nerve issues in thigh that makes anything that touches my thigh bothersome, it's so sensitive. Are you icing? That really help especially with the groin pain. Heat soothes the muscles. Have you been massaging too? sometimes this lady for awhile so be patient and rest when you need too. Wishing you all the best for a speedy recovery and healing! God's blessings to you. Hugs 🤗 Linda

Sorry autocorrect...meant sometimes this can take awhile to go away so be patient be kind to yourself and rest when needed 🤓

I agree with Linda, sound likes bursitis. My surgeon said it will go away. It just takes time. Do all Linda suggests it does help. X
