Normally I am not into psycho babble but was intrigued by this solar flare theory and how it affects the human body.
Apparently there was a solar flare around feb 15th and the Aurora was seen much further south I developed every symptom which are too many to list, just type in your question on how they affect the human body, there are some intriguing answers.
It is weird. My flare up of GCA. was about that time or just before and I have experienced every symptom. I was quite shocked to read this and how something in outer space can affect mind and body. It seems to have been proven by scientists plus other researches into varicella zoster virus. Why GCA ?. Why not something else ? What is the difference of GCA'S from other medical problems ?
Many years ago I lay in bed one night feeling as though the world was whirling around me. The next morning found out there had been a major display of Northern Lights (disappointed that I hadn't seen them). Never experienced an effect l ike that before or since. I am shure the moon affects us, although most of us are stable and are able to carry on as though we were not being affected. Like ships with stabilizers. Those can, I suppose, malfunction or be knocked askew, and then we would become more likely to sense the effects. But anything that can move the tides of the planet, and exert enough force to stabilize Earth's orbit, etc., must have some sort of effect upon us. We are so well adapted to it, I bet we'd notice effects if the moon were suddenly to blink out of existence!
The world and outer space must have many secrets still to discover.
Man has learned how to create electricity but is it the same type created by other forces. I often sit and think do we know it all but we really know nothing. After all we are very insignificant compered with the universe. It is amazing how we just accept it all.
I am hoping I came remain reasonably normal in my old age or is the moon going to send me ga ga
The moon won't send you gaga, I'm sure of that! I think we need to learn to pay attention to the world around us, though. I'm very lucky to live in a city which nevertheless still has a close connection with nature, and it is very healing to be able to walk along the shore and observe the waves and the seabirds.
I don't know anyhthing about solar flares, never paid much attention to
them but do believe that the moon affects humans. I tended bar for about 20 years and there were customers that only showed up on full moons. They don't call them lunatics for nothing. My husband thinks I'm nuts but ask any cops or emergency room workers. If the moon affects the tides in the huge bodies of water that are our oceans don't
you think it can affect us puny little humans.....?????
Well you just never know. I had a flare of my own the week of 17 February and just last week called the rhumy and saw him last Tuesday I'm the one that posted about being put on methotrexate.
Tiny sea creatures respond to the moon. Birds navigate with the help of the Earth's magnetic field. Humans are unique in that we have "learned" to ignore the powers of the world we live on, and the tugs of moon and sun. We'd all be dead if it weren't for the magnetic field shielding us. Of course we are affected by sun and moon, we've just, as a species, forgotten our place.
Worked for many years in psychiatric social work in a large psychiatric hospital and I can tell you unicuivicably that the moon does effect people. I even noticed it in working with persons with disabilities (non psychiatric ).
I lived in the Canadian Artic for many years and would lie in the snow looking at the magnificence of the Northern Lights. It's amazing how it draws you. I feel so fortunate to have experienced such wonders and would love to take my sps. there. There is so much in sea and atmosphere that effects us I just think some of us are more sensitive to these things.
I belive it. I was woken up one night the house shaking and it was like thunder and crashing. It was like giant Spears being thrown down to earth one after the other in a rainbow of colours and crashing.
I could imagine a giant God like creature such as Thor throwing these. It was mesmerizing let alone magnificent.
I said on another post somewhere that full moonis definitely noticeable to anyone who works in the ambulance service - all my paramedic friends comment and really don't look forward to that night.
I would love to see the Nortern Lights - since we moved here there have been several sightings where we used to live but it is far too far south here.
The Germans often give a "bio-weather" forecast alongside the normal one - which chronic conditions will be worse (or better) morning or afternoon. They have acknowledged for many years that people with rheumatic disorders are very sensitive and also cardiovascular things.
I'm not sure it is just GCA - the post I put up happened because someone happened to think of things that have 10/11 year cycles - and looked at it more closely. It isn't often you find someone who is a geek at 2 things
I've had a flare - but it was earlier, more the middle of January that it really became obvious although I'd not been well most of January. And there was a big flare at New Year. Who knows.
The moon's magnetic field is much weaker than the earth's so while the earth can influence the moon the reverse effect will be much less - doesn't mean it wouldn't be enough to affect very sensitive people I suppose.
I don't think it can be said to have been proven - just that there is a correlation which doesn't mean causation. However - there could be some thing(s) in between that link them.
As I said I would love to take hubby to the Artic to see the lights but I also love the summer there for fishing. It is a whole new experience too. When I moved to our nation's capital a group of us went to the cottage and went fishing. Almost 24 hours later and no bite. I didn't fish again for almost 6 years till I moved to norther ontario and even then it didn't compare to the Artic.
As your friends say they truly can see how the environment around us effects people and I find people that are in tune with nature (environment ) seem to notice these changes or are more effected by them.
Eileen, do you ever do conferences in Toronto or the north east of USA? If in Toronto you have a place to stay.
It just so happens I have 2 this year but usually we have one that moves around the world - this year Chicago, last year was China, next year is Germany (boo!). Years ago we came to Ottawa and have been to Rochester and Cleveland in the past.
Not sure if I could fit in Toronto again - I'd like to... Thank you!
Well whenever you are more east please let me know. Jean is hoping I'll have time to fly west but we are in the middle of decluttering to sell. We will see, I do have family in the west .
Good for you for all your efforts on all our behalf. Bless you
All around us effect us. There have been a number of theories over the years as to whether the sun or other planets effect us? One of the oldest is our moon and the effects of a full one!!
