solution for the weight gain!

quite a few of you mentioned that you have gained weight whilst on mirtazapine, if this has happened to you ask your doctor for zenecal the fat drug, this will help you control your weight. dont eat anything with a high fat content or it will come out down below like melted butter!!!!keep a bottle of washing up liquid by your loo! zenecal does work.

Hi thanks for your note about the drug to help weight problem. Is this the same as Alli? I spoke to my doctor about Alli and he thought there may be a problem taking it at the same time as mirtazapine because it can interfere with the uptake of the anti depressant into your bloodstream. He recommended speaking to a pharmacist to make sure but I never did. Does anyone else know anything about this?

Dear Annie you have to be morbidly obese to be prescribed this drug. I think with a BMI of over 30. It is not a serious option for most of us who have put on a stone or so. This drug makes the body unable to digest/absorb fat. It comes out in your poos. Most people have chronic orange poos whilst on it. It is not a serious option for weight loss unless you are seriously overweight.

Alli is the same as Xenical (Orlistat). The prescription version is 120mg whereas Alli is 60mg. My understanding is that it doesn't get absorbed into the blood stream but inhibits the digestive enzymes (Lipase) that digest fat in your gut. Since the fat doesn't get digested, it comes out the other end. If you stick to a low fat diet there's no worries. However, have something with a lot of fat you get an orange, oily, smelly mess. Can't comment on how well it works though.

Still sounds like bad news unless you are morbidly obese.
