I recently had really bad gastroenteritis and a urine infection, I have been experiencing terrible abdominal pains, sickness, bad back pain, tiredness, diarrhoea etc and have been backwards and forwards to the doctors and a&e. I now have to wait until July can you believe to see a gastroenterologist specialist. The pains have got unbearable and I need to go back to my doctor to see if can get a urgent appointment. The doctor has said if r ally bad to go back to a&e but they don't really do anything and don't have the specialist's on sight. Any tips of what I should or shouldn't be eating etc? Or any advice or support would be great, at the moment I gave inflammation of my bowel.
I know people in the medical world and I have seen their new guidelines which state unless the issue is very serious there is little help available and for serious it means pregnancy, diabetes, cancers and arthritis and other circulation issues.
Many here swear by Fodmap. It would never work for me as I am fussy about my food so I have produced my own diet over 2 years of tinkering but in short more fruit, veg and exercise and as little processed food as possible and no carbonated drinks at all ever and I am much better than I was before.
Yes but sometimes you feel like why is my body like this and others dont have this but found out it can be inside hemmeroids which leads to holding stools, blood or itching that are my exact symptoms which my doctor never mentioned.
One tip, extract fresh juice from vegs and fruit with a juicer its the key to this problem.
Buy a juicer worth 130 euro atleast its worth your health in many ways, good luck!
I have a juicer thanks for your advise and tips.
I know but I am generally in a lot pain and discomfort, I wish I was seen sooner, it's just really not fair.
I am not in disagreement
Recently I have had quite a painful leg problems due to incompetent veins. Ten years ago it would have been into hospital for a minor operation.
I was told your have 2 choices go private or put up with the pain. Due to IBS issues I do not work at the current time so I have taken latter option but if they become ulcerous I may have to reverse that position.
The problem is the NHS needs much more resource and obviously not going to get them while J Hunt is the Health Secretary.
When I started to get ill regularly I asked myself that question regularly and my ex also asked that question of me regularly. As she said I have become a different person. I used to go out to the theatre and work a full week and now I fear going out. Every time I think I am ready to go back to work I start to panic if the interview is more than 10 miles away. Who is this person? To be fair to my ex she is right as I do not recognise myself either.
I started off with internal hemorroid but with regular illness they progressed sadly. My illness ranges from constipation to everyone get out of my way now.
I am not sure. I have all that stuff and started the day off with one but since been told more nutritious to eat raw so now I have a fruit salad in the evening just apple and mango with yoghurt and I will have spinach and a light salad for lunch. I do not blend or juice anymore for this reason.
No idea if this is true by the way but a dietician said nutrients are lost in the process.
Wishing you better and a speedy recovery.
I'm sorry to hear this, sometimes I am in extreme pain but have to stay positive and seeing a specialist in July. I know it's difficult working when feeling sick in the mornings but after months of being unwell with bad gastroenteritis and a urine infection, I have only gone back to work myself. Good luck and stay positive and don't let it get you down.
Thank you and intermitently I am too. I am finished with doctors as believe I exhausted what little NHS resources are available.
I am not working. It is much easier. I may start a new job at some point.
Positivity is a tough one. I lost a partner through being ill regularly so difficult not to get down some days but I will try.
