Hi guys I'm looking for some advice or help, I've been with my partner for over a year and we tried for a baby I'm currently 9-10 weeks pregnant. I started becoming in a lot of pain in my vaginal area and was nearly passing out going to the toilet I went to A&E they said it was a bad uti and thrush ! Turns out it's not after going again and being examined again I was told to attend the gum clinic a day later by which point I couldn't walk at all .. he did swabs and said it's almost certainly herpes .. this is my first ob and I'm in agony I can't eat haven't for days I've started getting bad no 2s so been drinking dehydration formulars .. today has been the worst by far ! I noticed even laying in bed the pain was amount up so bad and I was becoming covered in clear liquid so I'm guessing they're bursting ! The pain is too much at times ! After 8 hours I think all or most have indeed popped which is some relief although I'm still refusing to have a wee because I need to in the bath and even the water doesn't help I'm still biting a towel and screaming and shaking !! I'm on aciclovir three times a day for five days and using sudocrem I didn't noticed last time I went for a number two I seen some blood discharge and I'm so scared for my baby see I'm under 20 weeks do no one can help me and I'm unsure where it even came from I do know at this point ulcers had not long popped and when I examined the discharge coming out of the vagina when I was straining there was no trace of blood ! Can they blood after they popped ! And how long does this go on for now ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ I can't move
Pregnancy is a big change and strain on the body, which could have made an otherwise dormant infection from years suddenly appear out of the blue. Either that or you were very recently infected by your partner.
The change/strain of pregnancy might also explain why you're having such a particularly nasty sounding first outbreak. It sounds horrific, but it will pass. Keep drinking water, as you need to dilute your urine for pain relief.
As for your pregnancy and the baby, things should be fine, but your ob/gyn must be informed, especially if you are diagnosed with genital herpes. Make sure they confirm the HSV type, so that you can let him/her know. I'm assuming you were swab tested. If not, get that done asap.
You may need to take the meds again in the final trimester, or worst case scenario, have a C-section to minimise the risk of passing the virus to the baby. On the bright side, however, it is better to get the virus now (if a new infection) than in the later months of pregnancy, which is less ideal.
Thankyou so much for your reply ! Means the world to me.
I'm so unsure when I was infected, I've only had two partners before my current one but because I'm having the outbreak he's convinced it's me who caught it and gave it to him. Which is shocking as I said we will never know ! And the man at the clinic said exactly that it's because I'm very run down with this pregnancy it's happened. I did have swabs dont on Friday (vile swabs I think ) but he said he was certain it was, I should get a text today or tomorrow confirming.
The pain yesterday and at night was horrific sheer agony even laying still, I wouldn't wish this upon my worst enemy.
The man I seen at the gum clinic said in Dec I should start taking my tablets everyday before I give birth to prevent anything so I will, but still think I'll be having a c-section I don't want to risk it.
I'm hoping today I don't have any soaring pain where I'm rocking and throwing up through it like last night ! Especially as I have a meeting in two days and can't move !!! That'll be fun
