Some pain, can barely walk: Should my wife have Hip Replacement?

Greetings from Southern California. I'm doing research on whether my 70 year old wife, who has some hip/knee/leg pain but can barely walk, should have Hip Replacement surgery.

Thanks in advance for any insights you can provide.

Will her difficulty in walking be corrected or will it remain the same?
