My 11 year old son woke up yesterday morning with pain under both ribs, as the days have went on it move down to the bottom of abdomen. This is now his second day with the pain. He doesnt feel sick or unwell, has had normal bowl movements and hasnt lost his appetite. Does this sound like hes backed up?? Im just worried just incase it turns out to be appendicitis or something. Would like to hear other stories of other peoples experience of the child having appendicitis or simular. thanksxx
Hi vonniexx
If your son does not feel sick and is eating and has bowel movements he will not be backed up. If the pain continues make an appointment with your doctor for some tests…
Might be a bug of some sort. Appendicitis tends to be on the right side and is often followed by vomiting, nausea, fever and pain coming in waves. I would see your doctor if you are worried. Although, I haven’t heard of pain under the ribs with appendicitis. Constipation would cause stomach pain, nausea, tiredness and lack of appetite. If his bowel movements are normal, this doesn’t sound like being backed up.Do a food diary to see if the problem is food related.
