Panful. Madla

Hi Madia,

I am six weeks post TRHR. I had my left hip replaced last January.

Regarding, your operated leg. It's natural to limp and you probably shall continue to do so for another month or so.  Remember, everyone heals at different rates.

I'm not a doctor, but it may be that as you are putting more strain through the unoperated leg the muscles within that leg are merely reacting and this could also account for the pain and night cramps.  It might be an idea to carry out your physio on both legs as this will help to strengthen muscles.

Rest, be assured, that it is nothing to worry about.

My right leg is also slightly longer than the left and again, I have been advised, that once the muscles and tendons tighten the leg length discrepancy will resolve.

You must understand that it is only five weeks ago that you underwent major and brutal surgery.  It takes time for the body to adapt and to heal. Listen to your body. If you tire, then rest. Use your walker for as long as you feel it is necessary. When you feel more confident, try using just one crutch which you hold on the opposite side. But please do not push yourself. You are not at a gym where you push through pain to gain. Your body is healing. Listen to it and I promise, that by Christmas, you will feel a different person.

Hi Madla,

The good news is that your operated leg feels better and getting stronger --- with that, your good leg is doing a lot of work, supporting you, keeping you balanced etc.

also, nothing feels normal yet - stiff and tight muscles and you are working hard to do all the exercises and learning how to walk again ---

Morriewynn is right -- keep using the walker or crutches -

try to be more relaxed - take deep breaths and relax your muscles, your body ..

are you eating well?

big warm hug

eating good food is important, sweetheart -- seriously - and drinking water - banana is good for leg cramps or drink some tonic - vegetables and protein like eggs, chicken, fish or a good soup --- chicken soup or something ..

your body needs good nutrition so she can heal ...

I understand that you lost your appetite - I did too - there are also protein drinks that might help also ....

you can do it --- little by little --- every little bit helps ...
