Sore throat with sertraline

Has anyone else had adore throat whilst taking sertraline?

Yes....I did. Too many side effects for me, I am taking Venaflaxaline now.

Thanks Lois, mine's more lumpy than sore but i had tonsillitis at the beginning of the year, will mention to my doctor when I go for a follow up appt, been fine otherwise

I think the throat thing is fr dry mouth. I take Sertraline 25mg on day #4. But have taken at 50mg for 2 1/2 mnths back 10mnths ago an had same issues with throat. Dry,gunky,can't swallow the gunk an sore fr being dry. An nose dry an gunky to in morning. All this happens in morning.after awake for an hr it all goes away.?? Wierd. Same thing on Lexapro.

Dawn....Venaflaxaline worked great for me. None of the vicious side effects I had with Sertraline.

In think you're right, its only just started in week 3 and only side effort I have so hopefully it will go soon. It's worse at night but notice that when I'm eating it feels like I can swallow food, noticed it a couple of times drinking too.
