Sound like Fibromyalgia?

Hi, I am a 42 year old male and for the last year I have been in constant pain, it is mainly my lower legs, both calf muscles are so tight and sore, it is like I ran a marathon the previous day, I also get ankle pain and a weird "antsy" feeling in my toes, my lower back is also sore. I have had a MRI and a regular lower lumbar xray and both were normal apart from normal wear and tear and a 8mm perineural cyst which my rheumatologist doesn't think is the issue, I am waiting for the results of my bone scan, not sure why he wanted me to do one as it doesn't feel like bone pain. It is worse when I wake up and gets slightly better when I start moving and I mean slightly, I need to take a couple of solpadol, Paracetamol or anti inflammatories don't do a thing. Pain doesn't wake me up. He is starting to think fibromyalgia. Do my symptoms sound familiar? I also have bowel problems, IBS like and I have had both a colonoscopy and endoscopy and nothing was found.

Very familiar! Thats exactly how I started, then the pain seemed to move to my arms and shoulders too and thats when I was diagnosed. It does all sound horribly like fibro to me

Thanks Carinaeta, not sure if I am happy or sad. Better this than something more sinister I guess although living like this for the rest of my life isn't a nice thought. How long did it take to travel to your arms?

Not very long sadly, but at least the condition isn't going to kill you, you feel pain but there's no good reason for it so I tend to just push through it, and take the fatigue hit later on. You learn to cope mentally and your doctor should be trying out drugs to see if any help, its trial and error with the drugs though as everyone is different.
