Hi, Lynne09047: Regarding the lovely white hosiery, I was instructed to wear them for two weeks. It was okay to take them off in the day, but do use them at night. Your surgeon will have a preference, so maybe check in with the office. They make a real fashion statement, don't they?! My friend took a sharpie and drew lines on them so they would resemble athletic socks! Cheers–n
Hi Lynn
I had those blood thinner injections to do as well.....the things we go through......passion killers for 6 weeks, blood thining injections for {cant remember...seemed like ages}
I wore trousers with elasticated waist at the beginning so they wern't noticeable.
I'm all for pimping things LOL
I've got crutches that I have to use permanently so I thought "why dull boring NHS ones"} I've now got a pink and black pair and a purple and black pair
At the moment I've got little light wrapped around them {battery operated} The amount of people that have stopped me and siad "I love those lights or very festive"
If you cant be daft at Christmas when can you be LOL

Hi Lynne,
Do take care though and keep watching for any swelling or hardness in your calf as this could be a sign of a clot. Like I said in another post I wasn't given socks as they said that they were for people who were at greater risk of clots. Just taking blood thinner meds for 35 days. They did tell me to watch out for the above though and so far I have been ok. I am now 4wks and 5days post op
