If you do choose to replace it I would go with the Boston scientific the leads are the size of dental floss. I no longer feel like I have cords in my back when I last on my back. It was a little brutal in the beginning but it's been almost 7 months since I had mine replaced. This is so smooth and easier to use. The charging is a breeze compared to the Medtronics unit. It's much smaller and it's rounded. I love this because I have so much more control. I control the radius of the similarities as well as the rate and the amplitude of the stimulation. I was just going to get it taken out when they told me about this. It's derived from a cochlear implant so it's much smoother.
thnx i will do some research on it , i just hate to have to puncture my spinal sack again ialmost died the last time
Omg it sounds like you and I are havibg same symptoms and I have had them move it about 3 times down. I use my remote my hands hurt and my heels have been in so much pain i can't stand it. I talk to a rep and they start telling me she has never heard that before I regret it everyday.
I indeed understand why 2 years I am in more oain than I was before I got this machine. It seems like all I want to do is sit down but I have to keep moving just so my pain dont get worse, I think who design this somebody' should tell him its a ripp off what a big wsste of money
For the amount of money we pay I just feel lije getting an attorney and suejng both of these doctors they lead you to rhink uts gonba work and when it doesn't they play dum. I can't take it anymore this is a nightmare i have had my obe 6 mobths and I am in more pain than ever I even have new pains I didn't have before, I can't take it
That is so true, its because they got paid already so lets just take a number i regret it everyday
I just had trial over yr ago. My symptoms
were immediate while in implant surgery room with doc and rep. They were not noted in records and from that day on they were denying any problems with scs implant. I had it taken out 2 days later. I Had whelping and blood red from tape with pinching pain in shoulder blade and nausea. Things got worse. Muscle spasms all the way around to stomach and rib cage, breathing problems, stomach upset, bowell problems, leg weakness to point can't stand or walk. They just kept ignoring what I was saying and told me to go to PC doc. They said have gastro test , heart test , before I came back, this was a coincidence not related to trial scs! Well I've done all that and still have same problem as Uve lost 30lbs due to diareah. Still leg weakness and breathing problem due to muscles in right chest and lungs, I think. Chiro for 6months and physical therapy for 2 months. They say I have dislocated ribs and right side pulled forward. Nerve or tissue damage. But they are not paid any attention to either. Must need to be medical doctor I guess? I have been thru the wringer and my money depleted doing all the test for no reason! Yes I am ready to STLL STAND UP AND FIGHT EVEN TO JUST KEEP OTHERS FROM GOING THROUGH THIS I ALSO WAS GIVEN SNOW JOB ABOUT THE POSSIBLE PROBLEMS INVOLVED IN THIS TRIAL IMPLANT PROCEDURE.
Hello, have a similar story. The pain relief was remarkable however I stared to develop pain in legs, hips, knees and my. Lower limb locomotion is reduced to shuffling instead of walking. Also I developed significant left shoulder pain
Ready...
.
Do you have the 5yr battery scs from St. Jude's? The one that is supposed to be MRI compatible? I live in Ohio and had mine implanted 12/7/2016. I've had nothing but problems since the surgery. I would love to find out how many people are having these problems. I'm on a couple of other forums and almost everyone has the same complaints.
Hi Sheila, yes I have the MRI compatible battery. I am still having problems, can't stand it sit for very long, pain in my mid back at C8 where they put the paddle is excruciating.. my leg pain has been helped so much with the scs, its just all the other ongoing issues I cannot cope with..
I hope you are ok? What are your issues since the implant was done?
Kayleen
Same symptoms here immediately after trial but doctors say it is coincidence....I don't think so. But what are you gonna do about all doctors stick together unless it is blatantly obvious!!
Oh awlful....may I ask how they determined the ruptured spine scs? Does Regular mri do that or contrast needed? I think my thecal sac is compressed or injured in my cervical infant procedure.
Doctor /PT actually are surprised by my new. Issues that appeared after implant and have no explanation. Next appointment tomorrow. Also my battery incision became infected requiring antibiotics and I am a little concerned they will want to remove it.
What brand of Stimulator do you have and where are you from? I live in Ohio and had mine put in 12/7/2016. It's St. Jude's brand new one with the 5yr battery and iPod. I'm trying to find people who have the same one and have issues.
It has have been 17 months
Of going from gastro doctors to heart doctors and then Neuro, chiro pand physical theapy. I have spent so much money I am poor! Blood work , brain scan last week, stroke??? No one equates this with the scs implant I had even though weakness and other symptoms started same day..Pain management that implanted it has denied all along I had any problems. My GP doc was no help as he was not doing comp and was friends with PM doctor also. Wish I just could relive that horrible day. It felt like that needle was scaling all the way up my back muscles to my shoulder. I hollered and was shot with more novacaine but still painful.
I'm trying to get mine out after numerous falls, hear ryrhym issues causing visits to er and cardiologist. I want scs removed as of no benefit to me.
I have severe pain between my shoulder blades. My fingers often get tingly
They never have been able to get the settings to where the pain is the most. My generator has moved from where the Put it and has migrated up my back. It's hitting nerves and bone making it almost impossible to walk. I'm using my Walker again. 😩My left hand is going numb. My battery was supposed to last 5yrs and at 21 weeks I started getting messages on my iPod to contact my surgeon to replace soon. Which is a far cry from 5yrs.
I needed an MRI almost 3 months ago and after sitting at the hospital for over 3 hours they came out and told me that they couldn't get the parameters low enough for me to have an MRI there. I'm still waiting for the rep from St. Jude's to find an MRI in my area that I can use.
I meant my left leg.
Ashlee what brand of scs do you have and where do you live?
