Jack, with issues like this there can be a whole host of reasons for them - what it looks like to me is a blocked skin pore has become infected.
For things like this get yourself a small bottle of Liquid (not cream or ointment versions) Antiseptic (TCP if you are in the UK) and dab some undiluted directly onto this 2 or 3 times a day. It should reduce within a day or two, but dab once a day until it has completely healed …
