Spot on penis

Hi, I noticed a spot on the head of my penis a while back (at the latest the beginning of June, though possibly earlier), it is near the rim of the edge. I then noticed a second one around the same time, but this one is on the side below the head.

Both spots looks similar. They look white, with what looks to be a veiny centre. They are raised up like an acne spot, but hard. So if it squeeze it, it doesn't pop like an acne spot. Neither are sore, unless of course you try and squeeze it. The one on the head is about 2-3mm, and the one on the side is about 1mm.

Obviously I am worried about this. I have never had unprotected sex, and always practice safe sex. Has anyone seen anything like this?

HI

I would go and see your doctor to get an expert opinion. Don't try and self diagnose over the internet as you will have just about every STI there is. I know its not easy but try not to worry and get a medical diagnosis .

Thanks, like I said it has been a shock because I always use protection. It's been an eye opener for sure.

Would it be best going to my GP or one of those GUM clinics? Is there a difference in the two?

I personally would go to a GUM clinic if you think it may be an STI, They  will see more STI related issues in a week than your doctoe wuld in a year so they would be your best bet. Although you can go to whoever you feel most comfertable with. If you go to a GUM clinic then your GP will never know you were there as they dont share that info with your doctor. As I said before dont self diagnose on the interweb and dont worrk, Take it form me its not the avenue you wish to take.

Thanks for your reply.

Honestly I don't know what it is. Since I always use a condom and practice safe sex, then I hope it isn't STI related, and not sure how it could be [?]. That makes me feel going to my GP a more likely route as I know them; however, the flip side is the GUM clinic can check more quickly with tests and it doesn't go on my patient record.

Sorry to ask this, but does this sound more a cosmetic thing (I do suffer with acne, and have had allergic reactions in the past to certain skin products), or is it more the other? Probably best not to speculate...

Hi Mike, I read your posts. Since you always have protected sex, an STI seems unlikely.

Definitely go to your GP, Clinic or both, to have it identified.. I had something similar to your description. It turned out to be a simple sebaceous cysts.. If it is a seabaceous, epidermoid or pilar cysts - they can be easily removed by your GP - get it checked out so you don't have to worry.
