Does anyone experience skin problems when using mtx? I'm on 20mg subcutaneous a week and my skin is terrible. I'm 40 and it's long years since I had acne and even as a teen it wasn't that bad. Some on my face but worst areas are my back and bottom. Feel like I'm never away from consultant and GP with side effects from mtx and other medication but I can't stop the treatment as I can't function for more than 2 weeks without it 😢
Hello Vicky, Strangely enough I too am suffering with red spots on my chest, back and stomach from time to time. They can be quite angry looking at times and Itchy. I am not sure but I think they leave a mark even after they go. I am going to mention it next visit to the specialist but he probably won't be interested!
Yes I have skin problems too on my stomache and back and face. I take 10 mg every week. I have even stop taking my injection as the side affects so bad. Being taking it for ten months now.
Thanks! I just thought at 40 I wouldn't have to worry about spots any more. I plan on mentioning it too but I can't really cope without the methotrexate and I'm sure the consultant will think me very vain and petty
