spots on head

Hi i am in the menopause so yes the dreaded hot sweats.I have spots on my head that hurt and itchy.I think its where i sweat so much at night.Anyone no what i can do to stop it.sad

Hi trudy

me to big scabs that just won't heal, I am going to try antiseptic cream to see if that works, I thought I may have had insect bites or something.

Hi Trudy, are you on any HRT at all? About the spots: it's better to go to a dermatologist....X

trudy, I don't know if this is applicable. I get dry scalp in the winter, and I started using the juice of the ginger root, and it really helped. I grate some ginger onto a little square of cotton, and then squeeze the grated ginger onto a little dish. I then dip my fingers into the ginger juice and rub it on my scalp and leave it there for twenty or thirty minutes before washing my hair.

In fact I also put olive oil or coconut oil in my hair and leave that in for the same twenty or thirty minutes. Then I wash with diluted vinegar. I can't believe that the same things I use for salad dressing are what I am using for hair care!! I have curly hair, a bit hard to manage.

Anyway, sorry, a bit off your topic. I hope you have better nights.

Hi Teresa i was on HRT but came off because of acne.Im taking vitamins now which are helping but not 100% hence hot at night.

Hi Scampi, iys deffinately due to be hot at nighti might try some sudocream see if that helps x

Hi i think it was on elleste duet conti x

Hi, I've had this problem for 4 years - never had any problem with scalp before menopause.

I've tried all sorts of things.

I'm using a german anti dandruff shampoo, which I've used twice in the last 5 days, it seems to help so far (I've used all the other anti dandruff shampoos out there and none of them worked) My scalp is less itchy and the spots seem to be going - I'll keep you posted
