Soy un hombre de 36 años. Hace dos meses noté un pequeño crecimiento blanco (omg) en mi garganta y fui a 2 otorrinolaringólogos que me dijeron que era un papiloma y que podía elegir entre eliminarlo o dejarlo estar, ya que el tratamiento no es médicamente necesario.
Elegí eliminarlo porque no podía dejar de mirarlo y la biopsia confirmó que era un papiloma escamoso, más comúnmente asociado con el VPH.
Dos días después de haberlo eliminado quirúrgicamente, fui a una ginecóloga que me realizó una prueba oral para el VPH mediante PCR. Quería saber si tenía una cepa de bajo riesgo o de alto riesgo para ver si me dirijo directamente al cáncer (VPH-16).
Desafortunadamente, la prueba dio negativa y no sé qué pensar. ¿Esto significa que el virus se volvió latente?
¿Va a "despertar" dentro de 10 años y matarme con cáncer de garganta?
Leí en línea que hay un aumento significativo de cánceres de garganta y encajo en el perfil pronto, blanco, entre 40-55 años, no fumador, no bebedor.
Tengo una ansiedad y depresión severas por esto y estoy muy preocupado de que me dirija directamente al cáncer.
¿Hay algo que pueda hacer además de rezar para que el cáncer no me golpee por mis errores? ¿Alguna manera de probar o curar el virus?

Le pedí al médico que revisaran si tenía VPH, lo anotó en la nota de la biopsia pero al final no lo hicieron. (No lo consideró necesario).
Me dijo que no es una ETS y que no es canceroso, pero no le creí, supongo por ansiedad severa. También vi a otro médico que también dijo que no está relacionado con el VPH.
Por mi loca investigación ansiosa, vi investigación que muchos de esos papilomas escamosos no son causados por el VPH, pero me obligo a pensar en mi estúpido comportamiento oral.

I went to a very reputable ENT and had a papilloma on my uvula removed she told me it's not an STD it's not contagious and doesn't believe it has to do with HPV I am waiting on the biopsy which will be ready the middle of next week and she said she would be Surprised if it comes back with HPV she says she sees these all the time and not to worry about it plus your test came back negative which is awesome

I had a mucocele on my inner lip and it has since been removed. Ever since I had this in June I've been obsessing over potential throat or mouth cancer. The only way this would happen would be if I have HPV. The reason I started freaking out was because I looked at the back of my throat during this time and saw red looking bumps. I then started obsessing over my throat and looking at it constantly. I've been married 15 years and my wife hasn't done anything besides kissing before that time with other guys.
I've never kissed or done anything with anyone but my wife. What's the likelyhood I have cancer or HPV?
