Was thinking of taking St John's Wort to help with mild depressions but have read that it can be harmful to lens cells in your eyes. Having had refractive lens exchange would this even be an issue as my natural lens has been removed? Any advice would be most welcome. Thank you.
Since you can't get cataracts after RLE, if you're worried about St. John's Wort possibly causing cataracts, you don't have to worry about it.
Thanks for the reply nina234. Do you know is it just cataracts that it can cause or is there other eye issues such as retinal problems etc?
You're welcome, brizy. I'm not a doctor and have no idea what eyes issues it can cause for a fact, but you can try googling st johns wort eyes and read all the articles that come up including st-johns-wort-can-lift-mood-but-may-damage-eyes
All you can do really is read all you can and then make a decision whether or not you want to take it anyway.
