Stabbing nerve pain after the minimally invasive surgery a

Hi all ,

I have stabbing pain and sore point under the big toe when I press my toe down hard. Surgeon said it's some sort of nerve pain.This started 10 days post op and up to then it was ok. Due to see the man in thre weeks,but I am panicking !  Please let me know if anyone else experienced the same.

Hi Lillian,

I don't know when you had your surgery but mine was three months ago, and the big toe still hurts on the bottom.  Very frustrating but also normal.  I've had unusual pains in all parts of my foot, underneath, instep, etc.  Today my scar hurts??  Hasn't since surgery. Always something, but I've been told to give it 6 months of healing.  Best wishes!  Joyce

hiya I'm 10 day post opp today. Has been going really well hardly and any pain up until now. If I touch my big toe by the bandages I get an electric shock kinda pain, and now my whole body is starting to ache. I'm sure my bandages have rubbed on my wounds as feeling more tender than usual. I saw the physio  to day and he said keep wiggling my toes and feet but its usual to keep the same bandage on for two weeks before they change it. So yes can relate to the stabbing pain and I haven't walked without the special shoe yet so can emgine I'll feel it even more...

Many thanks for your replay, much appreciated! I had a surgery previously on the other foot,which was according to surgeon more work but nowhere nearley as uncomfortable. However on this foot was les to do but more discomfort  I hope it settles soon. Has anyone had this type of minimally invasive surgery on bunions whre the foot is not plastered , just dressed?  I searched internet  and found this surgeon who I believe is the only one in the country that performs that type.

Live to hear from anyone with more info on the subject.

Hiya yes my foot is just dressed with bandages not plaster. It did bleed a little after surgery so that's properly why it feels sore and rubbing against the stitches now as need to be redressed, but they say keep it on for two weeks, so yes not sure why not plastered x

Many thanks for your replay,much appreciated. I  had my surgery on the 3rd sept so just over two weeks now. As same as you everything was fairly ok until the the other day when istood up (in the special shoe for six weeks)when uner the tip of a big toe felt like electric shock went through it, So I mention that to the surgeon and he said it's some sort  of nerve pain which I kind of gathered myself and a bit more info on the subject would be appreciated but what can I say? Can you please tell me your surgery was standart type, and if you have heard of minimally  invasive type?

Apparently, I had no stitches just a couple of 3 militrers cuts which were covered with steri strips. That's different  the way this medics type of surgery

Hiya yes was a moderate bunion on my right foot, surgeon said would be a straight forward opp just braking big toe , relining big toe with a couple of screws then shaving the bump at the side, and I think with just one cut at the side of the foot. I will get to,see it next weds when they change the dressing.

And my big toe can't even reach the ground when I stand as the swelling still prevents it.

Him I am now 4 weeks post op and can't put my big toe on the ground , still swollen. I can if I force it, bust stretching trying to break up scar tissue. All the skin is peeling from my foot, the whole foot, all over! Anyone else had this? Amanda

My skin is all red and peeling too. I should be putting Cream on more often. I am using pawpaw ointment. It is great and has good healing properties too.

I have been using rose oil but have some paw paw ointment. I will use that too. Thanks

Is this oil used for pain or massage?

Paw paw is great for massage and skin repair.

O dear Fran ,I don't  dare press down with mine, cos I know what's coming . I have real problem with medics. Because they never tell you how things will be they they use euphemisms, I rather they are straight with me.

Yes Amanda shedding skin all over its because the foot get sprayed with alcohol lore op and then is bandaged  for 2 weeks so I keep putting bio oil and rubbing it  anything will do I gues
