Started discussion yesterday on hip revision with arm fracture

HI I posted a new discussion yesterday & when I hit the post it I received a notice that some submissions require review. The topic was the fact that I fell and broke my right arm 4 days before my hip revision. It’s been a challenging month. Not sure why it wasn’t posted. Any thoughts?

I quite often get that happening. The computer check of your post probably found you had put a link in it or had a word it disagreed with. I have had it for book names even I have mentioned too. Really annoying.

hi doodlemom, wow you had been thru a lot. and so sorry about the post issue. usually the rules of the forum no posts are allowed to any outside web sources or sites at all or other post directed to outside posts. any referals must be resources from the medical site of the forum . all the rules posted at the bottom of each page click the terms and conditions button all the way to the very bottom of the page .

glad you came back. what luck falling and end up with a broken arm. sounds like something i would do.. not the best way to spend the holidays for sure …you have my sympathy ! when is the revision set ? You’ll probably need both arms for revision and this is not a easy thing to adjust to while coping with a painful hip.

Thanks for the info! Guess I won’t take it personally

Thanks for these guidelines. I too wrote a long post answering someone about psoas muscle issues. I included a link to a website link that gave some good advice, but I also mentioned about three times in my post that the person should talk to their doctor before trying any of the things listed. I wasted my time writing the post and never bothered to go back and re-write it. Yes it is annoying. But at least now I know why my post was rejected.

Thank you for your kind & encouraging thoughts. Just to clarify… i did have the revision of my hip done & 4 days before it I tripped in a cute pair of platform flip flops & broke my right arm. My husband has been helping me do everything. i have trouble doing simple things like brushing my teeth, coming my hair & showering. However the surgeon fixed my leg length discrepency & they are now equal! He also fixed the angle of my hip so it is not bulging like it previously. So i do have good news & my recovery will just take longer than expected!

DOODLEMOM…MY GOODNESS …a shoe accident tripping after the revision. are your shoes ok! JUST kidding??? im glad you clarified that happened after revision. & didn’t hurt the hip thank goodness and must have hurt landing on your arm. bummer…if it rains it pours. I did something exactly like that. I tripped over a pine cone in the driveway 5 months after revision and landed flat on my left breast. ended up with 3 bruised ribs, and a sprained shoulder…but hey I saved my coffee & the cup.not a scratch on it and my hip was not even bumped. I am just happy to hear that your revision put your hip back in proper alignment again and your pain free …hip wize…a big " hip, hip , hurray" on that one!

yet the arm can really put a crimp in your style. you’re lucky to have a hubby to care for you and mine has been MY hero in many of my surgeries. i hope your arm heals with no issues and life can resume for you and back normal. many blessings sent your way!

life is a journey.and I like your positive outlook!..

excuse the on and off use of caps im not yelling but since the new forum changes, i cannot get caps automatically after a sentence period. I have to press cap for new sentence and sometimes forget its on and too lazy to go back and clean it up. so i haven’t figured out yet how to fix the cap issue yet! DRIVES ME CRAZY !,!! YEAH ???THAT WAS YELLING,…hehe…

O-O-O-O sorry about that..PSOAS muscles is a common issue for pain after hip surgery. and i think almost everyone has had a post moderated or lost at one time or another. its annoying but you can send the links to other sites in a private message. its ok just click on the envelope next to the avatar of the member you wish to send a pm. and send the info… and yeah it eliminates any discussions on the other web posts but it saves the moderator hours and hours of checking on posts outside the forum . all are not approved from off site because they dont want to be responsible for sales of anything or services offered even advice by professionals that are not on this forum or approved. sometimes if you check with the forum moderator first then if approved some thing from other info boards can be posted. phew… well wont bore you any more…
i have trouble will caps and apostrophes since the site has changed. must have a bug! makes my typing look wierd!

HI Hope for Cure! i am having the same issues with upper cases! Goes on automatically after a period & stays on unless I TURN it off. haha! Well guess it turns on in the middle of a sentence also! Annoying right?

Hi you have done well to cope with both incidents, glad that you are managing though.
if you want to send links then send them through PM but even then sometimes you have to type the link in as it want always allow cut and paste

Since you wrote you have the same problem …i asked a friend who is a programmer…HE looked at the problem and its THE PROGRAM ITSELF that has bugs… the reason for the issues we are having. periods…caps…auto spelling …and apostrophes…they need to fix the bugs.

I’m fed up with the caps too, and lack of auto spell etc…
