Started physiotheraphy

Hello,

I started going to physiotheraphy 3 days ago. I will be going for 15 sessions.

My newly operated hip is doing perfect but I have problem with the previously operated hip.

At physiotheraphy it hurts me more while doing the exercises with my hip operated in 2015, there is a continuous sensation there((

The physiotherapist says the muscles are very week, and that is the reason for my pain.

Has any of you lived a similiar case?

What are your experiences with physio??

All the best,

Desire

Hi Desire, first of all you are lucky to get 15 sessions of Physio, when I had mine done in the UK, only got 2 sessions but managed to bag six sessions once a week in a lower limb gym class they held.

You other operated hip has been compensating and your physio is right, your muscles are probably weak. Can you take a painkiller before you go to see the physio to help. When you get home Ice it. Build up those muscles too and you will soon be running around.

hi desire,

How did you do  after 1 st hip replacement surgery?   did you get physical therapy then -

I empathize with you because I am dealing with similar issue ..

The best thing for me to do is to just accept that both hips need to heal - my whole body needs time (lots of it, apparently) to adapt to the hardware ..

Are you comfortable with your physical therapist - do you feel that they are knowledgeable and do they listen to you ?

Sometimes they have a One treatment fits all program and that won't work for hippies ..

I have had all PT's here in the village and to be honest, results were disappointing - Now I am having a different kind of treatment which she has me lie on some kind of bed and limbs are being moved instead of me doing the lifting .. (not sure how to explain it) - So it is more passive - muscles in my body are working for 10 minutes per bed ( 6 beds right now, all different muscle groups) -

For the first time in my experience, I finally feel attended to, listened to and cared for - someone is there with me constantly - adjusting my body so I can have the full benefit of the "work out" - in addition I have massages to help the body adjust ..

It is not fun, ■■■■ it is painful and I feel bruised and sore ... but feel that I am progressing ...

sadly this is not covered by my insurance but rates are reasonable and they allow me to pay as I go ...

expect to feel this sensation for a while - in both hips/legs and elsewhere in your body - it is to be expected -

go gently -

big warm hug
