Started sertraline, anxiety through the roof

Hi all, thanks for taking the time to read this, I just wanted some friendly advice and to share my experience, I developed anxiety through covid and sleep deprivation, had a really bad time, was prescribed sertraline and took it for four days, I’ve never felt worse in my life, complete sense of dread and fear , total insomnia , negative thoughts , after taking myself to accident and emergency three times a doctor told me to stop it. This behaviour is completely out of character for me even when I’ve had anxiety previously, so I suppose I’m asking has anyone else had this experience and would 4 doses be enough to trigger them feelings?? thanks.

what’s your sertraline dosage ?

2 doses is more than enough to make you feel insane on that stuff. it took me about 2 weeks for the crazy making and physical symptoms to calm down. longer foe them to disappear. you are at the worst. days 3-7 were the worst for me. after tou get through the initial side effects it does help calm the anxiety but its definitely worde before it gets better, but tben its WAY better than pre-medication. hang in there this is all normal

Thanks for the replies, I stopped taking it because the Doctor in hospital told me to after I had an absolute massive low where I felt I had no control over my actions, mild anxiety before that, it was only 50mg, im usually a strong person , like many of us, but I couldnt deal with another minute of it. I felt like i was on the verge of something terrible happening but that has subsided now, I was given some Diazepam for the tensing up and its really helped, had my best day in ages yesterday, hope it lasts.
