i was on this 2 years ago and after what seemed like an age was able to get my life back. I now have accepted I need to go back on and am on day 2 of 25mg but will be increasing to 50 on next few days if
i can. Hoping it works a second time but doctor says no reason why it wouldn't . i'm barely sleeping and not eating properly so also panicking i'm losing weight! anyone else at this point with sertraline?
Im on my 6th week all good just wish the tiredness/weakness n dizziness would go,i started taking them at night and they knock me out sleep lovely.im only on 50 btw.
Hi Natalie, I had been there. 7-8 times as a matter of fact. That's how many times I'd gotten on and off of it. And yes, it is scary each time I get back on wondering if it's going to work again this time like it once did. And it did! And so, it's worked once on you before so most likely it's gonna work again, although I noticed it seems to take longer each time, but not sure. So please give it time. Also I have decided never to come off of it. So perhaps this is something you might want to consider too. Hang in there, you've gone thru the terrible side effects before and you will again. I know it's next to impossible but try to get rest even if you can't sleep. Just close your eyes. And I lost tons of weight whenever I go thru it, so try to have milk, smoothies or shakes.
Yes my doc put me on 50 straight away then told me on the 4 th week to increase to 100 this didnt go well had realy bad migrane n sickness for two days,so he put me back down, now has told me to do 75 for a week n then 100 but i havnt done it yet to scared lol,and they dont do 25 so have to cut pills in half.
yes I am having issues as well. I started on 50mg, dropped to 25, then back to 50 now on 75mg...and need to bumb to 100...
I'm not sleeping, have no appetite, losing weight (i dont mind that), and have an increased heart rate & clenched jaw...
However alot of the side effects have lessoned or gone away completely like the nauseau and headaches... so I'm hoping the rest will start to lesson as well.. my dose has changed 3 times in 8 weeks so I think once I'm on a stable dosage i will have time to adjust...
I have had different side effects with each dosage, so its been a little difficult to function... hope you feel better soon.
hi Tammy - no sleep at all? i was given dizapam to help with side effetcs - took half last night and was close toa panic attack! it camt help they keep changing your dosgae -
I cant sleep more than two hours at a time... I was given some xanax to help, but I am still up within 4 hours... I'm hoping its the dosage, but without the increase I wasnt able to control the panic attacks...
I had been on Paxil twice, and I never had any side effects, but it stopped helping so I thought I would try something new....
Alot of people say this goes away, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed!
Yes, I am on it for OCD, anxiety, GAD, depression. It's horrible not being able to enjoy food. Horrible to not get sleep. But worst of all, it's horrible to be in that sick anxious state of like constant restless and fear. But I am fine now. Been back on 100mg since Nov.
I had gone straight to 50mg before. I had even gone from none to 100mg right away but I would not suggest anybody do what I did. I just didn't know better. The quicker you increase your dose the worst the side effects. If you slower titrate up or down the side effects are not as intense and your body can get used to it more.
I am not gonna lie to you, the next 2-3 weeks are gonna be pretty bad, but it will get better so hang in there. Your appetite will start to increase first before you start to feel better. You will make progress but then you will have moments where you feel you've regressed completely but do not let this scare you...with time and the med working you will feel better. Take care. Xx.
