Starting to improve

His guys not posted for a few weeks so just thought I'd check in.

Been on fluoxatine now for near on 4 months and started to notice a difference in my anxiety and mood this past week.

Had a few panic attack free days and anxiety really down to a more manageable level..

What I have found though on some days is I feel anoxious about not been anxious if you understand what I mean it's a weird feeling..

It's like I'm waiting to feel the usual signs of been breathles's and the rush of fear or the negative thoughts but they don't seem to come or if they do they are very manageable and pass within minutes..

I'm still not where I want to be and have struggled with traveling faraway from home bit im sure I will.overcome that to.

It's a crazy awful journey but there seems to be light at the end of the tunnel so keep fighting guys

Hi Shane,

Very happy to hear this. I am now in the midst of week 8 of 20mg Fluox and have posted on here a few times. Honestly, when Doctors tell you 'improvement after 4 weeks, and back to your old self by 8 weeks' it is not fair.

Firstly, I now realise I have had this problem for many many years and before accepting it, so I dont even know what 'my old self' looks like.

Secondly, the side effects from these medications can be really bad and one does not get warned enough. I can deal with nausea and a headache but no one told me I was going to feel just plain weird, detached, out of my own skin, foggy etc.

Very glad to hear some positive feedback, and that you are on the right track.

Anxiety about anxiety (or the abscence of it) is so common. I guess we are so hypervigilant and ready at all times to feel bad again, when i t doesnt happen it is a bit of a shock. The other day I had my first 'normal' day in weeks and it felt very odd. I kept thinking 'when am I going to feel bad again'.

Good luck!
