Hi, I'm about to start taking Amitriptyline for lower back pain, just 10 mg a day for the start. I'm worried about side effect like gaining weight? Did anybody had a bad experience or had a weight gain after taking them?

I take 3x10mg since May and my weight has stayed the same your on a low dose only side effects are the next morning a hangover effect which does wear off

I'm on a much higher dose than that, and I haven't really noticed weight gain so much as persistent weight, and an increased appetite. My physical conditions don't help with the fact that I can't exercise enough to make a dent in my weight, but I feel like the amitriptyline is also contributing. You shouldn't have a problem on such a low dose, though.
