Heightened anxiety the last 3 days. Should i give it more time or increase to 20mgs?
hi, Deb
sorry to hear you are still struggling with the anxiety. just know that it is normal for quite some time. it varies from person to person.
with that said, I don’t think anyone here can really tell you whether or not you should increase, that is something you should call your doctor about. it is likely that it may help! Around week 6 is when my doctor re-evaluated me to decide whether or not to titrate up in dosage.
Good luck and hang in there!
Thanks linds. I needed a reality check about the flu and how much anxiety it can cause in the beginning. I plan on talking to my Dr about upping my dosage at some point but i think my body is still adjusting right now. I appreciate your interest and kind words. Anxiety is really tough!
my doc suggests i go up to 20. did you end up tirating up at 6 weeks?
im just very nervous as i really dont want to have to deal with this horrible anxiety too much longer.
hi, Deb.
i think your doctor made the right choice and hopefully in a couple weeks you will feel better. sometimes anxiety needs higher dosage.
i actually didn’t titrate up because I started at 20mg and it has worked great for me so far but if it stops working or my OCD gets worse i will more than likely go up.
just know that you’ll be in this discomfort for a little bit in order to feel better long term. i know anxiety sucks but just know that it can’t hurt you. you can do this!
also, did your doctor give you any benzos to get through this rough patch? im not necessarily advocating for them because i know they are addictive but xanax really helped me through the hightened anxiety side effects. i would only take the smallest amount though.
also, do you exercise or go outside much? any time the anxiety starts, try doing something that gets you out of your mind and in to your body. like a walk, jog, bike, etc. the only way anxiety will ever go away is if you teach it that you don’t care if it goes away or not. think of your values and make them a priority and see them through even if you have anxiety and i promise it will lessen
thanks for the encouragement- it means so much. Yes, i also take Lorizapam to help with the side effects, which, ironically is anxiety.
I have a super supportive husband and we try and walk every day. i liked what you said that anxiety cant hurt you and to concentrate on my priorities. i have lots of family coming to visit this summer and i just want to be as close to my normal self as possible by then. With lots of love, prayer, and support we can do it!
It is so great that you have support! You are already doing it every day if you really think about it!!
Yes, I am, thanks fir the reminder. its easy to lose sight of that when every day is an emotional battle. Cant wait to see what this med can really do.
