Stem Cell Recovery Forum: Arthritis and Cartilage Injections

To those that have had stem cell treatment have you see an xray or MRI of your joints after this procedure and has the cartilage been replaced?

If not, then it sounds to me that the pain relief is no different to that achieved via a steroid injection. I have had 2 finger joint replacements and am enroute to a 3rd so am looking for an alternative, but I have already lost a lot of the joint so unless its replaced it won't help me.

I've often wanted another MRI but I'm sure that unless I  go back to Premiere Stem Cell in Colorado that's not going to happen. It has been nearly a year since I had stem cell injections in my knee, which had become so painful that I had finally decided to do the inevitable, the dreaded knee replacement! I also had arthritis in my right thumb joint, and a 90% tear in my left rotator cuff. I am now back to riding my horse and roping! I am a 68 almost 69 year old woman. I completely believe in stem cell therapy if done properly.

Hi, my husband is planning to have stem cell + PRP procedure for his knee. I have google stem cell treatment, Boca Raton but can't get more reviews. Is it alright to share your Doctor's name?

Did you have both knees done at the same time??

I had stem cells plus ACL reconstruction nearly 9wks ago, in my right knee.

My calves of my legs feel really tired for a week

Now after stem cell injection. I am also lacking energy. Is this normal

Jeff

Had stem cell treatment onbknees with Prp, 10 weeks ago

Just finished 8 weeks of therapy

My one knee pretty good, some pain, discomfort in right knee, doc wants to prescribe braces, I'm skeptical and would like to wait on them, hoping stem cells c9ntinue to grow

I'm 73 year old male, and was told I was a candidate

Thanks

Also, forgot to mention, knees are stiff at times, exercises help , but not always

Also, 600 mg Ibuprofen helps at times

I am looking into stem cell for my knee. I've read about cells harvested from your own hip bone, spun down and then injected into your knee. I've also read about using your own cells combined with placenta or amniotic cells. Do you know anything about that? Where did you have your injection done? What was the cost?

They harvested the stem cells from fat in my stomach area.. put it through the process while I watched. Then injected the cells. I had it done in Atlanta for 3k for 1 knee. I am still trying to build the muscles back up in that leg where I babied it for so long. But pain is pretty much gone at this point.

It's good to know it worked for you, as I mentioned, I am 8 weeks post stem cell and PRP treatments, knees still stiff, one knee there is a little pain

My Doc left the practice, and am seeing the founder of the clinic, but, last visit, he had my knees sized for braces, which I am skeptical of, but will try them. My next appointment is June 7th, hopefully time will help.

I've read where more than one PRP treatment can hurt more than help, any info on that would be helpful. I started to wear a compression brace on my one knee when I work out, my therapy stopped about a week or two ago, 8 weeks of it

Any comments would be helpful

Thanks

I read a study and you can google it, that physician therapy and rest has a better out come than TKR. I have had a torn meniscus for years and mananged to keep it well thru PT shoes and shoe inserts. It has turned into osteoarthritis and thought about stem cell too. Would hope that the US would approve it. It could help many with all types on issues. It's approved in other countries. Yet PRP treatment is not as successful as stem cell. I would try it before surgery it's worth a shot.

Wondering if anyone here has had stem cell injections with stem cells taken from their belly fat. I just had the proceedure to cultivate stem cells from my belly fat and store them with a stem cell bank. My injections are scheduled in two weeks.

I have bone on bone in both knees and have already had 4 prp treatments. The PrP worked for a while...so I am hoping this works. I am only 48 and replacement is just not an option. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated TIA

Sorry but I have not had stem cell surgery but I would like to ask you a question do you live in the UK as I have Osteo arthritis in my knee my knee joint is in a bad way and that my knee is beyond stem cell I cannot understand why my consultant want perform the surgery for me only TKR I am totally reliant on NHS. Davd

Here in the UK NICE control what treatment Drs may give and it's based around proven results.

TKR is very, very successful which is why it's the preferred route, what are you waiting for. I know a lot of people who have had this done and they are running around like new afterwards.

I had stem cell therapy in both hips....severe arthritis and unfortunately the stem cell therapy didn't work....it's almost been a year and now I there are days i can barely walk! Seeing an orthopedic surgeon June 29th and hoping I can continue to deal with this pain! I am a choreographer and a dance teacher so every step is painful!

Oh Molly so sorry stem cell didn't help. I like many others was  hoping it would help many who suffer from arthritis. Where did you have it done if you don't mind my asking?

i have had both hips replaced and it's well worth a better quality of life. You will dance again slowly but surely life begins again and pain free!

Great news 😊 I also have read of great results with early intervention. It may be the answer for many in the future.

also heat and a knee brace as well as spring shoes takes the weight off per square inch of pressure by walking on spring shoes. I have osteo in both knees. These shoes have helped for many years. Hips are replaced but knees seem to be manageable so far . Really was surprised to have the results. I guess just lucky so far.

I have read read umbilical cord stem cell therapy is more successful than stem cells taken from our own blood.

Great great story and a blessing to have the results you had. Congratulations to you and so happy you have the life you love back.

I Have osteo arthritis  in both knees. I wear spring shoes to manage the pain and PT had success with it for several years. Have both hips replaced so gave up riding miss it so much. Loved my BEAUTIFUL HORSES. GONE TO THAT RAINBOW IN THE Sky! Such beautiful majestic and smart animals ans wonderful memories.

Thanks so much for the encouraging words! I had my stem cell therapy done in Louisville, ky. A place called Louisville Body Works. Then I had 20 sessions of physical therapy....I felt better for about 6 weeks but when I went back to dancing and choreographing, the pain came back with a vengence! Even though my arthritis was really bad, my Dr. Thought I had a good chance of stem cells working because I had 2 billion stem cells that he pulled from the back of my hips.

Glad your hip repacements were successful! It gives me HOPE!
