i have PMR and am now down to 6mg a day. I am also taking Metholtrxate weekly. I woke up with a terrible allergy attack, constant runny nose, headache. In the past, I would get a steroid shot for this. Can I do that now that I have PMR and on daily steroids? Thank you for any suggestions.
No reason why not, steroid shots are used for other things when someone is taking pred for PMR, most notably bursitis. I can only assume you have got down to too low a pred dose to manage the allergies - but are you sure it is an allergy and not just a viral infection? If you are also on methotrexate I'm surprised you have had such a dramatic immune response since both pred and mtx damp the immune system considerably - and put you at more risk of catching infections.
I take loratidine for allergies with no problems.

If you get any worse do call your doctor - viral infections when on immunosuppressants can be nasty and better safe than sorry!
