So I was just wondering if anyone else notices this but whenever I'm prescribed steroids for a lupus outbreak scars, bug bites, and dark spots heal way faster. It usually takes months or even years to go away. But I noticed when I take the steroids marks go away faster. A bug bite that hasn't healed since I was in high school (I'm 22 now) just suddenly vanished. This isn't a complaint post or symptoms I just curious if anyone else noticed this.

My grandmother also takes prescribed steroids to treat lupus in the early stage. But, the treatment is used to relieve her joint pain, not heal scars or dark spots. She stopped it 5 months ago as her joint pain was eased. Now, she just takes supplement to boost her health. I may not know how prescribed steroids heal your bug bites fast, but I understand it can cure pain effectively.

I've been diagnosed with lupus for 5 months. I've also prescribed with steroids in 1-2 months. It relieved effectively knee pain in the first 4 weeks. But after that, I began to lack of sleep and dizziness. My doctor recommended supplemtns. However, I haven't seen any changes though i've taken it for 3 months. Is your grandmother healthier after taking supplement? Pls help me!

I think you have side- effects with steroids. My grandmother lucikly doesn't have side effects when taking them. Also, supplements have good effects on her health. She has taken them for 3.5 months. What supplements have you taken?

My doctor recommends iron and vitamin D3 to help me reduce fatigue and knee pain. But, they seem to cause constipation and I haven't see changes in my body. Should I keep taking them?

Instead, you should provide iron through foods like spinach, sardrines or lentils. I think you should ask your doctor again. Supplements may also depend on each individuals.
