Last December I was running up the stairs and hit my toe against the staircase. I immediately knew something was wrong but my my told me I was fine and to just wait it out.
Still in pain a couple months later my mom takes me to get an x-ray and an MRI but the doctors said they couldn't see anything wrong with it.
And here I am today still in pain and unable to bend my toe and I have no idea what to do next. Anybody have any ideas?
I'm no doctor but maybe it's not your toe at all but something further up in the foot but your feeling it in your toe.
No I don't think so because it's visibly swollen on both sides
Maybe a bad sprain? Sometimes that is worse than a clean break and
takes a long time to heal and might still be swollen and painful for a long time
Agree with Faye. Sometimes sprains are worse. But 9 months, wow. Are you staying off it? I had a flare in my big toe recently and had noticed I was putting my weight forward when I stand or walk, so it reminded me to be more centered over my foot. Luckily the pain has gone after about 4 weeks. But I did stub my other toes last year and it was sore for probably several months.
Maybe try some cold and heat therapy for increased circulation? Or cut back on inflammatory foods??
I hope it heals for you quickly.
Did you go to a podiatrist? Since they specialize in feet, you might get some help there. good luck! Elinor
I hurt my toe at Christmas and it took ages to get better. I saw my chiropodist/podiatrist who was very helpful.
