still forgetting

back down to 3 mg after a flare.   is it normal to be still  a bit forgetfull  at  this  level.  i

think  i  just  do  things automaticaly  without thinking,   cos if i try harder i do remember.

gets me   into lots of trouble  with hubby,  i have been on pred  for 5 years   once i am off   will memory return.  i am 75  and  do know  the older you get    this kind of thing does happen

I've been on Pred for 5 years too (had to up it a month ago to 6mg because of bad blood results).

Memory obviously gets weaker as you grow older, when you forget words/things, etc you worry - when you forget the same things in your 30s or 40s you just shake your head and 'normally' remember.  So be it!  I'm 78 so of course I forget things.  Does your husband never forget things/doesn't hear so well (when it suits him)?😀

I`ve had PMR nearly 6 years and yes, I`m the same....forgetful, and my husband doesn't understand lots of the symptoms of it....when he`s awkward....I forget to cook!

Oh Linda I did laugh out loud and choked on my cup of tea when I read your message about FORGETTING TO COOK haha x

Yep, selective amnesia!....well he has selective deafness.....I`m all for equality!

My memory is atrocious but it's almost all on trying to remember words. I have mentioned this to my GP a few times and he has just pooh-poohed it. I have suffered from chronic pain for nearly 13 years and have been on opiates for over 7 years so I attribute most of my memory problems with taking all of the drugs that I take and the pain that I'm in constantly. I just hope it doesn't get worse. I'll be 56 next month and I just am afraid that it'll only get worse as I age.

sorry to hear that you have been a long time 13 years wow   and i thought i was a long time trying  get shut of this awfull  complaint xxx

its  good we an have a laugh    tho   its the best medicin x

I have a lot of support from family and friends and that helps a lot. And after so many years you learn it's just part of your life. You get a system going and things just keep moving on. I thought I was doing fairly well because I had a good pain management doctor, until I got hit with PMR. And that sent me into a tailspin.
