Hi, I've now been on Sertraline just under six weeks, three weeks on 50mg and just over two weeks at 100mg, I still have anxiety, clenched jaw, and feel really tired in the afternoon (I take when I get up, around 7:00 am) but have trouble sleeping at night, I thought I would have passed the side effects but obviously not, this is the second time on Sertraline, after stopping for a year, and I can't remember it taking this long the last time, should I be counting the weeks after an increase ?

From my own experience I would suggest another week at 100mg and then requesting a rise to 150mg. It took me a good 7/8 weeks to start feeling better, and a lot longer to get over my tiredness in the afternoons. Anxiety is extremely physically exhausting, your body is on overdrive 24/7. The tiredness is very likely to do with the anxiety itself, rather than a sertraline side effect.
Hi. Yes I was on 50mg for a week and put on 100mg 5 weeks ago. I have to dismiss the week of 50 and just acknowledge the 5 weeks in 100mg. I still have anxiety panic especially in the morning. I dread waking up!!! But have been told by my excellent doctor not to expect sertraline to be working it’s magic for at least 6-8 weeks. Just gotta hang in there and thank the person who invented Valium !! Keep going. We are strong people ❤️
Hi PopWop, thanks for the reply, I never really thought about anxiety making you tired, I just put
it down to Sertraline !!
Hi Karin88115, thanks for the reply, I will just hang on in there, as I said I was on Sertraline 100mg for about one year and tapered off about a year ago, but this anxiety thing has crept back, so as this helped me before, and got me back to my old self, I'll persevere with it
