I still have a burning, tight, achey, stiffness in my leg after an Anterior THR, on my left leg, 10 months ago (08/25/16).
I get stiff & tight, to where I begin limping after walking a few blocks. I still have pain at night that won't let me sleep. I feel a stabbing in my hip when I attempt to go up stairs. Is this Normal & when will the constant pain go I still have a burning, tight, achey, stiffness in my leg that had an Anterior THR, on my left leg, 10 months ago (08/25/16).

Some days are better than others, but when I exercise or do my therapy it flares up.
Any suggestions on why I still have pain?
What to do to get rid of it!
And how long until I'm pain free??
Any suggestions or advice is greatly appreciated.
I'm getting quite frustrated with the outcome😔
Hi I'm sorry your still finding it difficult to enjoy your new hip, I presuming you have seen someone regarding this and had xray/MRI or some tests to confirm that your hip is sitting right.
If it is then I would suggest that the sooner you push your exercises the better, your muscles will atrophy and I think that weak muscles cause weakness and pain, I'm finding that if I don't keep up a heavy exercise regime I really struggle, I know you think its the exercise that make it worse but its actually the other way round, ice and some pain meds should help after, have you got a physiotherapy and hope you don't mind me asking your age and do you have a leg length discrepancy
Hi Sao, You may have nerve damage which could equate to the burning and pain, I had posterior nearly two years ago and had burning and pain. I was given medication and it eased and went pretty quickly. In regards to tight achy stiffness, then it maybe you need some physio to stretch the muscles. It can take two years for the muscles ot heal completely. I still get a tightness now and again, and get the osteopath to stretch me out.
I would suggest you visit your GP in any event or speak to your surgeon, When i was having some difficulties with bursitis and a fall, I emailed him and he gave me an appointment to see him 2 weeks later and checked me out.
dear sao,
I am so sorry things have not gone better for you ... I saw your post of 5 months ago about the same issue ...
what has been done in the last 5 months ? did you have it checked for nerve damage - this is quite possible since you had the anterior approach THR .. your surgeon should know or otherwise refer you to neurologist ..
do you have physical therapy?
we are not medical trained here, sao, just fellow hipsters sharing our personal experiences and stories -
Unfortunately I cannot answer your question how long it takes until you are pain free- we all heal at our own rate, in our own time since we are different -
Maybe you can go for a 2nd opinion ...
please keep us posted how you are getting on, okay ..
big warm hug
