Still trying

Hey all,

I've been on orlistat since may 26th now, and starting to lose will power, I've lost a stone and 5 lbs, The reason why i say that is because I've noticed little things creeping their way in, like yesterday i had 3 chocolate bars I did start the gym tho yesterday and really enjoyed it going again tomorrow, just wondering if anyones got any tips to keep going x

hey,

i am new to orlistat so still got my determination but i have tried hundreds of other things and i find when i am starting to dwindle i re-think the reasons why i wanted to lose weight in the first place. I think we all need a goal, like a wedding, holiday, school reunion or something.

its so easy to dish out advice........I have just had a percy pig ice cream!!!!!!

so dont listen to me!!!

i hope you werent taking the tablets when you had 3 chocie bars...

everyone has days when they crave stuff, ideally you need to find an alternative you can have instead, i am a chocoholic and have ww choc brownie frozen deserts, 3.3g each

alternatively you could allow yourself a number of meals/days off over a period of time where you can treat yourself

its great you've joined the gym and even better that you enjoy it

I allow my self a couple of meals off the tablets a week it helps me keep going and gives me something to look forward to. I've swapped treats for lower fat ones and I'm always on the lookout for lower fat alternatives for anything when I go out shopping.

I agree it's important to remember why you want to lose weight. when you have a slip up - notice I said \"when\" & not \"if\" because we all do it; try and not beat yourself up about it, get back in the saddle and be extra to make up for it :D

Another suggestion for a chocolate treat (one I got from slimming world)...

Get some zero fat soft cheese such as Quark and mix in a sachet of the Chocolate Options powder (only 1g of fat) and then some granulated sweetener (the fake sugar type Canderel or Splenda!).

The end result is something that I think tastes rather like the topping of chocolate cheesecake!!

Hiya, as a newbie wanted to understand what you are saying about meals off the tablets?

Obviously am still inspired to do this completely but I do travel a lot on business and there is a chance that when I do I could get caught out in a restaurant with something higher fat than I was hoping.

Are you saying that if this happened I could/should skip a tablet and this would minimise the chance of rotten side effects?

Obviously not a route I want to go down as I want to really go for this and lose as much weight as fast as I can. But I like to understand things completely so it would be good to know this for reference!

Thank you

to answer your question :yes

there will be occasions where you'll eat somewhere with no nutritional info or you wont know how somethings been cooked, i tend to skip the pill of that meal and then the next one just to get the food out of my system so the next one doesn't act on it, i eat 'badly' for the one meal and resume my good diet after

Thanks Sarkles, that makes sense and is useful to know.

KW - sorry for hijacking your conversation!
