Hi ladies,
I had a perineum reconstruction at the same time with posterior repair. Now there's one stitch half popping out at the vagina entrance, the other half is still under the skin and causing me a lot of discomfort. The surgeon did tell me to go see him if the stitches are causing irritation, and he removed one of them yesterday at my three weeks check up.
I know if I go to see him again on Monday, he'll definitely remove it for me and save me from this irritation, but I really don't want see him like almost two days in a row (I guess no one likes to show ppl her vagina to the doctor).
So my question is, if I just keep it like this. Will it fall out by itself eventually and how long it will take?
Thank you very much!
Eventually, mine seemed to breakdown and get shorter, though still prickled and I was very sore for a couple of weeks when it just disappeared .
It was the same stitch, the one just outside, and I'm still sore there.
You'll be faster going back to the doctor if he said he'd remove it.
.
It sounds like he wants you to see him rather than have it cause irritation and discomfort.
A couple of weeks, that sounds awful. I don't think I can deal with it anymore after one and half days already.
Yes,I'm definitely going to see him again. Just really hate lying on that table...
I hear you, not fun at all! And early on just going to a doctor appointment is really tiring. It was for me at least.
No, it's worth a few minutes of embarrassment to get it sorted out faster.
I went to see the surgeon and got it out, and was told it would delay the tissue healing if I just leave it there, however...... I can definitely feel there's more stitches making their way out instead of dissolving!!!! Gosh
Some aren't as bad, I found the ones like catgut that prickled were the worst.
The internal ones were soft ones and didn't bother me.
Let's hope yours are the same. it's a relief to get rid of that outside one though.
