I'm 12 weeks post op yesterday and still have a couple of stitches that show no signs of dissolving. They feel like cat gut. Do I need to get them removed now? Thank you
Hi rosiepixit I can feel what seems like stitches under the skin where bladder was repaired it is tender when I touch it i am 13 weeks post op also tender cervix and it is now leaning to the left. Like you I hope this is normal x
If they are bothering you make an appointment with the practice nurse at your GP surgery. It's rare a GP will remove sutures. They can take longer than 12 weeks to dissolve because there are often some strong ones used, so if they aren't bothering you leave them to do their job.
Thanks matron X not really bothering me except if the main one which has a thread hanging moves and digs into me. Like others on here worried that I may have overdone things and undone the op. My bowels seem like they were before when I never really felt like they completely emptied. Sorry a bit too much info! Xx

A bit worried myself about posterior repair, but can't quite figure why.
Before op, little prolapsed pocket near opening, so wasn't emptying properly and therfore back and forward to toilet throughout day, couldn't wipe clean, would get lower sore back when on feet too long, worries that would not get access to toilet when needing to at work!
Post op, prolapsed pocket gone, can wipe clean properly, going quite effectively once a day, but still seem to need to go more than once a day some days, and when I need I have to go fairly quickly, ( not had accident as yet but never had to wait too long ).
I assume that should sort itself once pelvic floor stronger with exersise.
Anyhow still have lower sore back after being on feet for few hours or day after swimming (only go for 30 min swim), feels great at time.

Guess it's normal to worry Phyll . I read you're going back to work soon . I hope it goes well and you don't over do it X I'm not back til the 6 th June can't say I'm looking forward to it being off so long . I work with mostly 2 year olds and will be difficult as it involves lifting etc but I won't be able to. Not far off retirement so will see how it goes xxx take care xx
It's funny we spend weeks hating being off and desperate to get back to work as soon as, then before we know it we still want to be back but dread it too!
At least only 1 day 1st week and 2 days second week, and will see how it goes.
You may be able to sit and pull on your knee, hope you find a way to cope!

How on earth do you "feel where bladder was repaired" & 2nd 'how on earth' do you know where your cervix is sitting let alone ever seen it?? Your cervix is way up top end of vagina. Sure have never seen mine or figure out how you could.
You can't and that's why a post op check is so important
It's the stitches used to repair front wall where bladder was dropping i can feel. cervix isn't that far up that I can't feel it maybe that's still due to swelling. I can't see mine but I can feel it x

Oh god no ha ha.they do say average cervix is between 3 and 7 inches inside vagina glad mine seems to be about 5 at the moment would be in a panic if it was 3inches though x
