on Friday morning, 5 days ago, I began to have infreequent palpitations, maybe a few instances every hour or so.
Saturday midday i began to have very loose bowel movements, followed by chills and fever. At the moment im still having very loose bowel movements, but also the palpitations still. I Rang 111 and got referred to an out of hours GP who seemed somewhat disinterested, and simply said to make an appointment with my GP to get a referral for a 24h ECG.
Im very concerned about these palpitations and was wondering if the stomach bug could be causing these to be worse?
it may also be worth mentioning that a month ago i was told i have "some anxiety" (another useful diagnosis from another disinterested doctor) - perhaps this is the cause. Naturally im worried about the root cause and would like them to go away. What can i do?
I Have used the ECG function on my apple watch which does seem to show a beat occur "premature" occasionally.

In my experience, if you have not felt heart or chest problems before you got stomach issues, it can be related. The gas and discomfort caused by stomach radiates to chest, back side especially on the left, and hips (left side) . And this discomfort may be causing to disgustful and fear like feeling that might be causing the heart to beat faster.
Heart beating faster, disgust, suffocation was my experience in my stomach problems. Especially when I felt like a lot of gas has collected around my stomach.
i have had this back in march.....i believe it is the anxiety that causes it. i take a quarter of a small beta blocker. it needs to be checked out by a heart specialist to be sure.Mine was an extra heart beat...both top and bottom....it is scary... mine happened more often when i slept on my right side. i still take the quarter of the pill every night before I go to bed. BISOPROLOL FUMARATE is the name of pill. i had this a few years ago for about a year and symptons left, stopped pill back then and i was fine, it was anxiety then too. you need to check this out with your doctor FOR SURE! Hope this helps! Loose bowel movements could be just anxiety from what is happening..

When the palps occur do you get dizziness and does it make you breathless?...if so next time it occurs and you feel dizzy and breathless call an ambulance. Also, are you on any meds if so check you Patient Leaflet that came with your med for side effects..
Show your doctor this diagram because they will be able to advise you better. Few of us are doctors on this site. Anxiety can cause palpitations.
