*hi, i'm sure so many of us have had stomach issues when it comes to having anxiety/depression... i've been dealing with this for 12 months now... Has anyone found anything that works for them when dealing with diarrahoe... when i was at my worst, i was going at least 20 times a day.. somehow and god knows how, i managed to get through.. but, it seems to be coming back again ... -any help would be appreciated! many thanks x *
Hi , sorry to hear you are going through these troubles , yes thats quite a bit if fluid you are losing , make sure you are drinking a lot of water to keep hydrated , actually sports drinks would be best because they add electrolytes you have lost . If you arent allergic to Imodium try taking that as directed . It should help with your diarrhea . If that dont help ask your doctor for suppositories .. Next doctor visit have your vitamin D checked , its highly important .best wishes for you
I have irritable bowel syndrome very bad and it sucks a lot I take a medication called dicyclomine and it helps me with my irritable bowel syndrome
You have not stated what meds you have been taking all these years nor what foods you have eating.
ive had this ongoing now for a year, i was first put on sertraline 50mg and then 100mg as it made me feel worse. i then was put on another anti -depressant but a lower dosage… that also didnt work! i havent taken any meds since august as i felt better … i had a monthly cycle a few weeks back and it came back. i didnt eat alot becayse when i do my tummy pains etc… are horrendous
There are med’s specifically for IBS. From what I’ve read I don’t think an anti depressant which usually has a whole set of side affects is the right approach.
Theres a couple of home remedies for IBS , pepperment is great for bloating ,cramping and diarrhea , also yogurt with live cultures helps to strengthen the gut . Over the counter Pepcid or prilosec helos in all
Low vitamin D can cause IBS , please get yours checked
thing is i know its not IBS, this only happens when anxiety comes back … i had a monthly cycle and it came back. stomach gurgles alot and then i have episodes when i feel like im going to be sick, legs feel really tired, arms feel tingly, etc…
will do … thank you ![]()
anxiety is one of the main triggers for IBS.
Yes i get the runs when my anxiety is high. I used to vomit when i was a little girl when i got very nervous. Now as an adult i know it was anxiety, im surprised no one picked up on it and im 32 now lol
I also have my gallbladder removed so that doesnt help.
