I have noticed that a lot of you are suffering stomach issues during perimenopause. Could I please ask if any of you have been referred to a gastroenterologist for further investigation? I suffer quite bad stomach issues around the time of my period whether I have a period or not. I went to my gp that put me on omeprazole but after a couple of months I was still suffering so they decided to do blood test,a stool sample test, referred me for a ultrasound which I'm due to have on the 28th sept and then today I got a call asking my permission to give a gastroenterologist department my details which obviously I agreed to and was told to wait for an appointment. Now after my blood and stool tests I havnt recieved any calls from my gp so assumed theres nothing to worry about but today when I got the call from my gp receptionist about the gastroenterologist my anxiety shot to pieces. I'm hoping that if any of my test had come back normal I would have had a call way before today?? Sorry for the long saga
sorry that was ment to say if they had come bk abnormal
Totally have had, and continue to have, multiple digestive issues. Have had ultrasounds, blood work, and every kind of stool analysis out there. All normal. I’ve lost 10 pounds (and was already very slim) because I’m either too nauseated to eat, or have chronic diarrhea. I tend to think that you don’t need to worry, but it’s good that you are getting everything checked out.
i have an appointment next Friday
