I will be 66 next month and it said not after 65. Also, reflus/hietial hernia....
I suffer from IBS-D although recently I'm closer to constipation, also get cramping/pains in front below navel area and on left under that rib. I had an EGD performed/ Upper GI. My GI doctor said the pain under my left rib is muscle spasms. I have been diagnosed with Mild Gastritis/Mild Duodenitis ( The body of stomach and Fundas has inflammed lining along with beginning of Small intestestines are inflammed as well) diag: Peptic Duodenitis and Multiple polyps. found. Pathology results were all good told nothing to worry about. Fundic Polyps. For my muscle spasms I was prescribed Dicyclomine HCL 20 mgTabs. Up to 3 per day as needed for pain. . I was also wanting to have something on hand for nausea but she said if I use my Metamucil daily as recommended I most likely won't get nauseated. Well I still am on occasion. I also had Colonoscopy and have Diverticulosis (pockets in my colon).
Help this answers your question. The medicine helps with spasms. In my situation since pain doesn't last constantly. I was told to just take mine in the morning. then in afternoon etc that way it will prevent my pain in my particular situation.
