Hi. I am a 106 kgs heavy woman trying to lose weight. Doctors have told me that I have gastroesophagul reflux disease as well as postnasal drip. A few years ago I lost approximately 28 kgs but last year I gained it all back and unfortunately am worse for wear because of it. I have now developed a funny symptom that I haven't experienced before (at least not to this extreme). Whenever I eat, even if it is a small piece of meat or a small sliced up vegetable I start getting pains on my right side (quite severe but when you press against my stomach it's only slightly tender), just below my right breast and then I cough uncontrollably, to the point that I start to choke and cough up heavy blobs of saliva. I have been eating smaller portions and have been taking meds, going to the doctor, basically doing everything I should do since discovering this symptom two months ago. I have even lost a few kilos. But, it feels as if it's getting worse though. I am not sure what else I can do. Is there anyone else who has felt this way? What did you do to at least contain the issue until your next doctors' appointment or visit to the hospital?
Have you had an endoscopy?
I would go straight to emergency at the hospital.
