Stomach troubles

Been on sertraline for 13 weeks since being on them had bad diarrhoea is this normal. am so worried . any one had the same. been to doctors told them didn't seem bothered . thank u x

They never are. But i think stomach problems occur in some as its a known fact that sertraline causes gastritis. Thats why my doc told me to eat it after my breakfast every morning.

Yes, normal, Sertraline absorbs in small bowel. Seretonin irritates the bowel, as explained to me y pharmacy. I had it as well, probiotics work to stop it

Same.. 35 days on sertraline every time I go for a Brad it sounds like an agitated mallard trying to get out of a bucket of custard.!

That made me smile some thing I havent done in a while thanks . hope u don't mind me asking how long have you had it x

Hi 13 weeks is a long time and its still happening .

Oh yessss .... but I think mine was part of my anxiety. Still I have sometimes but very rare.

Try to eat often, small amounts of food and probiotics.

I've been on sertaline for 7 weeks and felt alright fot the first two or three weeks but now feel worse tthan before I started taking the tablets and have had diarrhea for the past three weeks? I saw the doctor last week who didn't seem concerned but told me to carry on for another two weeks and if I still had diarrhea to go back? Not good.... so I stopped taking the tablets four days ago rightly or wrongly and will see how I get on. I still have the diarrhea but no other symptoms yet?

36 Days of upset tum now.. Glad I raised a smile

Sorry to go on about it . are you getting bad pains in stomach as well . thanks globus kid x

Yes my tum is almost constantly growling and gurgling...

Thanks Kevin its happening to me about 4 times a day and stomachache . was that the same for you. Feel worst now than before I started the

pills x

I have to run to the bathroom about 4 times a day . that cant be normal x

About the same for me too. Twice early morning , lunch and dinner time...

What dose are you on .is it helping you please

Dear Jessie .... Sounds almost identical... I've been on the lowest dose and if that's how they make feel then they are going in the bin. Hopefully things will get better for you. I hate taking pills. Take care.

Was on 50 mg for 27 days then 100mg since then.

Not sure if its helping I have literally just had a massive panic attack and had ambulance crew attend 10-11am so heavens knows what id be like without it or if its contributing

So sorry to hear that . wish you well and hope they work for you . xx

Thank you, hope they help you too..

Hi Jessie just wanted to give you an update since I threw those "Devil's own" tablets in the bin almost two weeks ago.  I can honestly say I feel much better, more calm and less anxious, also my tummy symptons have now finally gone... no more diarrhea..... back to normal at last.  I will never ever take Sertraline again and if I'm ever prescribed any tablets for anything in the future I will make sure I properly research them and any side effects they can cause before taking them.

I do hope things have improved for you?  Take care.
