I've decided I'm not continuing with mertazapine anymore, in the 2 days I've been taking it ive felt like ive run a marathon my legs have been aching and numb, ive not wanted to socialise with anybody I've been lazy felt drunk and spaced out, not slept normally and worse of all not stopped snapping at the wife and kids!!
Well done Paul as if you were as unlucky as me you'd be still experiencing these things few months down the line and it would be very difficult to stop then. Ask your GP for a refferal to a therapist. Mindfulness is great or just buy a book with a cd on mindfulness. It helps to cope with life and it's quite amazing. Good luck!
Hi Paul
What were things like before? After all I presume that you are taking them for something. Anything like this is not going to stop or change overnight.
What dosage are you on? I would suggest that you give it a bit more chance.
Nick
I've was prescribed 15mg and my doctor said she wanted me on 30mg in a couple of weeks time, the last few months my buisness has been struggling a bit and I've been feeling a bit down no energy or motivation, I've been waking up at night sometimes, doctor said she thought I was suffering with depression, I can honestly say I've felt worse than ever the last couple of days, I must admit I've not been worrying about the the things I'd been worrying about but out tgat down to the fact I'm so tired and spaced out!!
Sorry PUT THAT
I can't really help you - in that my experience of coming from a far darker place than you , if you don't mind me saying.
You might look at the datasheet on patient dot co dot uk

Speaking from experience, get off of it now and try something else. The longer you are on it, the harder it is to get off.
Thanks I'll look into that
