ive been on citalopram for about 4 weeks now and had really bad side effects with tremours in my legs couldnt drive on nothing went to see doctor yesterday and they said to stop taking it right away , i had the same happen with sertraline , has anyone just stopped completely after this amount of time and not had withdrawls ? there going to try me on ammitripline in a week when theyve said the citalopram has left my system , but im scared to try anything else after these bad side effects , im taking them for anxiety .
Your doctor has advised to stop them immediately? That’s shocking. What dose are you on? I’d get a second opinion. Even tapering off and then starting the other medication is better then cold turkey. Please get a second opinion. I’ve come off cit before after 18 months and I had no withdrawal personally but I tapered. But even some people who taper have had withdrawal symptoms.
i was on 10 mg i asked her bout withdrawls and said because im on a low dose and not on that long i would be ok but today is day five and feeling anxious and on edge , they took me off because i was having bad leg tremors but only like three weeks into the tablets and the same happened with sertraline now im scared to try any others
