Stopping sertraline after 5 days

hello, im on day 5 and need to stop sertraline. ive never felt so unwell-heart racing, cannot sleep for longer than an hour and lost 5lbs. anxiety 24/7 with the worst panic attacks ive known. i know it takes time but how can i possibly go on feeling so unwell. im on the cusp on breaking down. i hate to feel like im giving up. anyone been in a similar position?

I came off it after 10 days because it slowed my pulse to 50 beats when awake, and when I first woke it was 35.

crikey! did you have any over adverse reactions to it? how did you find stopping?

I felt so bad starting sertraline. The anxiety diminshed first, then slowly everything else. I had NO appetite. NONE. Two weeks and I had to force myself to remember to eat! Insomnia was awful. Just the worst. After everything calmed down then I started getting stomach aches and nausea. THEN after about 6 weeks, I felt like myself again. Five days pretty soon to throw in the towel. If your symptoms arent getting slightly better in a couple of weeks or at least shifting I would talk to the doc about switching to something else.

If you are taking for anxiety you should feel better sooner than with depression, which they say can take weeks and up to 2 months to feel better mood-wise. Take the smallest dose possible then go up slowly–over weeks. I started w 1/2 of a 25 mg (12.5) pill for weeks until I went up to a whole 25 mg pill. Whenever I go up or down dose, I feel symptoms again but never as bad as the initial start period or when Ive finally finished tapering down to nothing. Good luck!!! I hope you feel better soon!
