Stopping SSRI after years

Hi- I have been on some form of SSRI or SNRI for the last 14 year’s for anxiety. I am currently on Lexapro 10mg for last 4 weeks. It is not helping and my Dr is suggestion I stop all antidepressants and have a wash-out period. She’s taper me off slowly but I’ve been on some form of antidepressant so long it scares me. 

Have any of you ever gone off all antidepressants after being in a long time and actually felt better? Did the weaning process go ok?

In the past I was seen by a Pain Clinic. Part of the course was to know how to deal with those medications I deal with and be flexible with my doses. Your Doctor will know of ways to reduce your medications to dry you out, under advise you should be ok

Be patient and follow your GP instructions, hopefully  you may find you do not need AD Medications when you come of them.
