Strange.....

Hi all over the last couple of nights I've notice I get a weird feeling in my arms and legs.i guess it's like restless leg syndrome.you get a a weird feeling and have to move them.i can't relax.anyone else have this, hope you are

All okayxxx

I get that at bed time and it drives me nuts!!!

This drove me half crazy! So glad to be past it.

Graham got me to plug in my ipod and this helped distract me and sleep. Doing the foot stretches and rotations also helped.

I am curious about other approaches as I get my second hip done late summer and really do not look forward to this again.

I got this for a few weeks post op. It goes in time. I never really slept for 6 weeks hated sleeping on my back as soon as I could sleep on my side I managed to sleep much better and for longer. I'm 12 weeks now and have no problem sleeping on either operated or non operated side. It will get better just try to relax and catch up trough the day. I used to tell myself I'm just relaxing if I sleep it's a bonus.

Take care

Yes, I got this and had a horrible time sleeping. It still bothers me and seems worse at night or when I try to relax. I had four bad nights where I could barely sleep at all because of this problem. I call it the "leg creepy crawlers" I assume it must have something to do with the nerves in the legs being affected from the surgery. I don't know if I finally got to sleep out of sheer exhaustion or the fact that my doctor said I could finally start taking my Ibuprofin again. Glad it is easing up that is for sure. I thought I was the only one with this until I saw your post. I certainly hope yours eases up soon. Wishing you well.....Barb

Your name for it is bang on!!!

HI Sandra,

RLS is a wicked irritating syndrome. The stinging crawly pins and needles.mit turned out to be the anrihistimines I take for algeries.

Once antijistimines were stopped that RLS stopped.

my dr said there are many reasons and illness that can cause RLS .check with your doc and find more information online.

Wow - very interesting. I will have to read up on this. Thanks.

Hi Sandra,

I am very familiar with this feeling - I never had growing pains but thought this might be a similar feeling - It is annoying and I had to get out of bed and walk around when it was bad - I wasn't too worried though and was told it were the nerves healing and "being tested" -you know, like current searches ..

there is so much more involved than just our hip(s) - we keep until we lie down -

and then, suddenly they are gone ...

big warm hug

renee

of course, when you are worried and it is painful, see your doctor

Oh no - not more weird sensations to look forward to !!!!!!!

Very true in my case. Do you take any allergy meds?

Hi Sandra I thought it was just me that had these feelings...I have really just had them this last week or so, I am fine all day then when we settle down to watch Tv Iit starts I call it jangling and I have to keep getting up its weird...the last four nights have been ok so that might be it..hopefully

Oh Malloo -

that is why this forum is priceless, because we are so courageous and share all these feelings and sensations and emotions - some we recognize, or remember, or have no experience of it ....

so keep sharing lovely people - it is such a comfort - we are all normal -

don't desprair, you are not alone anymore !!!!!

Hello Malloo, have you not had the creapy crawlies yet. I was in and out of bed all last night again with them. Your brains saying sleepy time, and your legs saying, nope, think again. It also comes with some kind of freaky twitch. Looking forward to that nonsense being over. Maybe you won't have the pleasure of that little tormentor. Warmest wishes. Xxxx

Hello Renee, your so right, priceless, who knows what a mess I would have been without you all, giving advice and reassurance. Hope I can be of help to other hippys going through this. Warmest wishes to you all. Xxx

That is exactly what I call them the creepy crawlies.....the most irritating feeling! Always happens when I try to relax....I know some people have it all the time (restless leg syndrome) but I didn't have this until after my surgery and it started for me in the second week seems to be subsiding some (I hope) I am three weeks post op today.....each week gets better and I hope to keep seeing improvement...Wishing you all well...

Hahaha yes that is exactly how it feels. I always get it when I am trying to relax and have the need to continually move my legs feet to try to get rid of that feeling...Hard to rest at times because of it being so irritating...

Yes indeed. I have asthma and need a full complement of puffers, antihistamines and other meds. I have tried fairly restrictive diet changes with limited success. Without antihistamines, I am pretty miserable. But the RLS is pretty awful too - will have to see how I might balance these off.

Thanks.

'Jangling' describes it very well for me.

Another sleepless night for me. I call it the creepy, crawlie legs...I didn't have it until my surgery. I sure hate it when this happens....so exhausted today...I guess it is time for a nap if I am able....Wishing you all well...
