I've have been suffering extremely severe anxiety and depression where I became so unwell I tried committing suicide. I have been in hospital for two months where I was given seven Electric Shock Treatments and originally sent home of 300mg of Pritiq. Since arriving home my anxiety went through the roof and they reducing the pritiq but have introduced 30 mg Mirtazipine which has left me with less anxiety but unable to wake the next day, dreadful nightmares, pins and needles in the face as well as dissociation (I'm here but not really feeling during the day) I'm so scared and the doctors keep telling me to give it time but I just can't function. Could anyone tell me if they have had similar experiences and if they stopped and how long they took to go or any other mets they tried?
Hi Anne, you have to give the Mert time akthough you don't say how long you've been on it? What other anti depressants anti anxiolitic meds have you been on..

You have my sympathy. You have had a really difficult time and all these treatment changes arent helpful. Yes, i think many of us here have had these problems. If you can manage to, i think you should give a little longer, the drs all tell us this but sometimes we lose faith. Try to be strong and keep taking the meds, you know if they dont work then you will be able to change them at your next discussion with dr. People who have been in your shoes understand your problems and will try tohelp you, this site is full of experienced patients.
Sorry, my brain is still foggy I have been on it for the pristiq for 6 months and the mertazipine for 3 nights. I have been on other tablets but not sure of their names due to my ECT
