I have an anxiety disorder which is as a result of my father dying 2 years ago of esophageal cancer. I have worried that I would get the same disease and now, on the anniversary of my dads death, I am convinced I have it. I get panic attacks, pain in my chest, dry throat. When I eat I feel as if my food is very slow to pass through. Does anyone else suffer with this??
Yes when my health anxiety is high I often get sore dry throats and mouth, its really distressing. A slower than usual digestion yes happens sometimes
Thank you it's good to know I'm not the only one! Sometimes it's hard to know what's real!
Its all real. Just because the anxiety makes us feel Ill doesn't mean we don't feel I'll. Once u have the anxiety under control the rest will follow
Thank you
Hi Laura,
Iknow how you feel. I suffer 24/7 with health anxiety, every little pain i get, i think I have a terrible disease and am going to die, last night i ha bad pains in my lower stomach close to my ovaries and i was and still am so afraid. i went to the doctor last week and she examined me and told me she didn't think theres anything to worry about, but i still do. have you gone to your doctor? Try not to stress too much until you have it checked. It could be your mind playing tricks on you.
Chest pain and dry throat are some of the more common things you get with anxiety it seems. Your digestive system also suffers. Although you probably won't notice, you may eat food differently to how you used to.
If you need reassurance see your GP. But the symptoms you have I'm sure everyone here has or had also
