I have recovered from eating disorder and severe thyroid issues.
But I am still struggling with low stomach acid.
I am still taking armour thyroid but because of hypochlorhydria, I am still taking Betaine HCL.
I am passing gas all the time and my stomach is bloated most of the time, which makes me very irritated.
I really think am a healthy male now, but this low stomach acid issue never goes away. It's still hard to digest food and I'm belching constantly plus the bloating.
I really think this is related to the thyroid issue, has anyone have experience with low stomach acid and its treatment?
I can't say I have noticed any bloating but I do pass gas quite often. But I have recently had my gallbladder removed about 3 mo ago they maybe related to the gas.
Hi LP, I sent a post, but it isn't showing up. If it doesn't show up, PM me and I'll pass on what I've learned in my years with thyroid disease, as your question is excellent!
I was gaining weight went 200 lbs when I was hyper never weighed that much in my life. Now hypo I have been losing weight. I have to stay away from too much fried foods though.
Hi Chiffon, glad you're on the mend. Seems a little backwards that you gained weight while hyper and losing while hypo. Hmmm. Most people are very thin while hyperthyroid, as extreme weight loss is a symptom.
Similsrly, weight gain can be a symptom of hypothyroidism.
In the end, if you're feeling like yourself again, that's great!
I'm not feeling like myself to tell you the truth I'm a mess. I have a doctor Alitalia with my primary tomorrow we will see what she says about all of this.
